Weston Hockey Club - Fundraise Your Way Training and facilities provided by Weston Hockey Club to women, men, girls and boys are essential to the continued experience and growth of field hockey in west Dublin and the surrounding areas. Our sports club depends on internal and external fundraising and donations to supplement its income so the club is grateful for any fundraising you can do.
Weston Hockey club is always looking for new donors, fundraising initiatives and supporters who want to ‘Get Involved with the Club’ and help in any way, big or small! Get Fundraising / Organise an Event for Weston Hockey Club There are lots of ways our members and the public can support us. Anything from a donation, to a gift, to contacting your local Credit Union, or doing a sponsored event makes a huge difference to the club. You can be sponsored for practically everything, whatever your age or level of fitness there is a fundraising event for you!
Get sponsored to walk, run, swim, climb, cycle, or play in a blitz.
Hold your own event; a Pub Quiz, Bingo, Bridge Night, Talent Contest or even a Lip Sync competition, a Golf Day, Cake Sale, Coffee Morning or Bag Pack.
Ask family, friends, work colleagues to get involved and use their skills and network of contacts to help you plan and raise awareness of your activity.
Communicating your fundraising event Weston Hockey Club must ensure that all our ‘Third Party Fundraisers’ agree to be bound by the rules laid out by the financial governing bodies and regulator guidelines in Ireland. It is essential that we know about your event. Prior agreement MUST be obtained from the Weston Hockey Club committee before any individual, group or organisation undertakes any fundraising activity, i.e. please communicate your event by email to westonhclucan@gmail.com and the committee will respond with a request for some basic information on you and your event.
How Weston Hockey Club can support you in your fundraising Please contact Weston Hockey Club at westonhclucan@gmail.com for any help and advice or to discuss any ideas you may have. Weston Hockey Club can provide a letter on headed paper confirming that you are raising money and/or raffle prizes for us and we can also signpost where to get permits if you are collecting money in a public place.
If you are organising a sporting event such as a cycle, run etc you will be covered under our public liability insurance. For more advice contact or if you require additional cover BHP offer one off event policies for a small fee https://bhpinsurance.ie/industry/festival-and-events.
Use of the Weston Hockey Club’s Name & Logo
Please consult with Weston Hockey Club for any printed material, advertisements, media materials and press releases associated with the event. We will provide you with a high-resolution version of our logo, so you don’t have to copy it from other sources.
Get on Social Media Please remember to share your fundraising activity via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to help spread the news and encourage support and donations. Always tag us so we can share through our own social networking channels to help spread the word. You can also share your online fundraising page on your personal social media pages and ask your friends and family to do the same; the more awareness the better!
Forwarding the proceeds to Weston Hockey Club To comply with auditing requirements and to safeguard the integrity of the organiser, it is required that at least two people are involved in the accounting and remitting of the proceeds from any event. All net proceeds must be submitted to Weston Hockey Club within 30 days of the conclusion of the event. (This requirement is also necessary to comply with collections held under An Garda Siochana permits).
When lodging money or completing an electronic fund transfer use our AIB account Sort Code:93 36 35 Account No: 22450-048. Contact the treasurer at westonhclucan@gmail.com or westonhcinfo@gmail.com for the IBAN number. In the reference please write in the name of the fundraiser; e.g. ‘Lucan Golf Classic’, ‘Last Man Standing’, ‘Donation’ or ‘Sky dive’ etc. and your name.
Sending Photos and Feedback We’d love to see photos of your event or hear about any media coverage that you may have received, we can post a photo up after your event on the news section of the Weston Hockey Club website.
